PURPOSE:
Responsible for performing advanced analysis and problem resolution in support of the Finance and Contracts activities; and preparing meeting materials with supporting documentation for the Board of Directors and other Executive Leadership presentations. Leads special projects focused on process improvements and analyzes the financial and operational implications, and the corresponding risks and opportunities of business decisions and arrangements impacting the business. Responsible for analyzing standard and ad hoc operational, financial and productivity metrics. Responsible for the development and implementation of strategies and tactics to ensure continued improvement in administrative cost structure and the synchronization of systems, people, and processes.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
Position does not have direct reports but is expected to assist in guiding and mentoring less experienced staff. May lead a team of matrixed resources.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education Level: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, related field or equivalent technical training OR in lieu of a Bachelor's degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required in addition to the required work experience.
Licenses/Certifications Upon Hire Preferred:
Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
Experience: 8 years demonstrated progressively responsible work experience in finance accounting or quantitative analysis.
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong knowledge of CareFirst organization and financial systems and processes; Government and Medicare contracting knowledge (FAR); in-depth knowledge of GAAP and STAT accounting rules. CPA licensure and/or MBA. Expertise in cost accounting allocations and methodologies; and working knowledge of Cost Accounting Standards (CAS); and experience with Oracle Financial and Hyperion applications.

Salary Range: $78,768 - $156,442
