Position Summary: This outreach athletic trainer will be responsible for assessing and improving athletes' physical condition while preventing and treating injuries to enhance their overall performance in the high school setting. The ideal candidate will work with medical professionals and coaches to evaluate athletes’ condition, track progress towards goals and provide emergency medical care as necessary.

Job Responsibilities: 

• Assist Head Athletic Trainer in coverage of school athletic events and practices.
• Must be willing to work afternoons, nights, and some weekends & must be able to adjust to changing work schedules
• Experience with recognition, evaluation, and immediate care of athletic injuries.
• Demonstrate knowledge of safety practices, including safe operation of athletic training equipment.
• Ability to perform the following functions regarding athletic injuries: prevention, assessment, treatment, (including first aide) and reconditioning.
• Ability to demonstrate proper taping, strapping, bracing, and fitting of athletic equipment.
• Ability to perform duties in an efficient and independent manner with minimal supervision.

Job Qualifications: 

• Successful completion of athletic training curriculum with in a CAATE approved program.
• Must be certified by the Board of Certification (BOC).
• Must be licensed by the State of Florida Board of Certification.
• Must be CPR & AED Certified.

Hours: PRN; Scheduled as needed
