initiating, coordinating, and enforcing employee systems, policies, and procedures.Direct and maintain workflow by monitoring steps of the production process; setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; developing reporting procedures and systems; facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.Complete production plans by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.Maintain and contribute to quality products and customer service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.Ensure proper and efficient operation of equipment by calling for repairs, evaluating new equipment, and analyzing techniques.Provide manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data; answering questions and responding to requests.Create and revise systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, record-keeping systems, forms of control, and budgetary and personnel requirements, recommending and implementing changes.Create and maintain a safe and clean work environment.Regular and predictable attendance.Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.Maintains positive working relationship with employees and peers.Comply with company policies and procedures and all applicable laws and regulations.Additional duties as assigned.REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:High school diploma or GED.Two years’ experience as a corrugator operator.One year lead experience. PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:College and/or related technical experience.One-year supervisory experience as a proven manager of at least five people.Four years’ experience in the corrugated industry. REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:Ability to understand, design and operate equipment in a way that can be translated into efficient operation and that supports the Supervisor’s role of teacher and trainer for his/her personnel.Ability to understand economic factors and cost issues in order to make daily decisions that will reduce overall costs and will help the employees find areas that require improvement.Ability to understand and implement quality standards.Ability to understand and implement regulatory requirements including but not limited to wage and hour requirements, environmental and waste minimization, company policies, and personnel requirements including OSHA, DEQ, and EEO.Ability to speak and understand English.Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.Ability to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy.Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurement, volume and rate.Ability to apply concepts of high school math. LEADERSHIP ATTRIBUTES:Superior time management skills including the ability to manage multiple issues concurrently and the ability to lead an effective and efficient meeting.Ability to teach in order to function effectively as a teacher for his/her personnel both in the technical and administrative parts of the position.Excellent crisis manager who demonstrates that he/she has a high emotional control under adverse conditions and can lead his/her personnel to a successful resolution.Excellent employee relations skills including being an active listener, understanding how to appraise personnel, applying both positive and corrective feedback, being able to resolve conflicts, understands and demonstrates positive motivational skills including coaching and delegation techniques.Demonstrated confidence including providing a consistent leadership style with an acceptable level of professional assertiveness.Professional appearance to support his/her role as a supervisory representative of the company. PHYSICAL DEMANDS:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and talk or hear.
