Job Description

STC is a science and engineering research and services support company with proven expertise and experience spanning research, development, test, and evaluation in areas including aerospace engineering, earth and atmospheric sciences, chemical and biological defense, military systems and technology, and software development.

Job Description:
Uses Geographic Information System (GIS) techniques to provide a better understanding of certain variables in a given geographic location. Analyzes GIS data using various methods to respond to inquiries and recommends appropriate strategies based on the analysis. Expertise in performing data conversion migration, and translation activities utilizing advanced processing techniques.

• Extract data from GIS software and use analysis methods to arrive at results
• Provide maps and data sets to clients to supplement analysis
• Provide database development support to create cartographic and digital data products
• Design and implement efficient production tools and coordinate work flow
• Perform finishing of remote sensing data, produce and maintain cartographic databases, update cartographic data from intelligence databases, and produce mission specific data sets.
• Supervise other GIS analysts

Education:

Master’s degree in GIS, Computer Science, Cartography, or related fields

Bonus points if you have:

• Direct GIS experience in support of DoD agency

• Schedule: M-F, 8-hrs/days

Job Requirements

Job Requirements:

• 10 years’ direct experience in GIS and geospatial information
• Expert understanding of GIS theory, software, and applications
• Excellent written and oral communications skills in English
• Expertise in performing data conversion migration, and translation activities
• Experience supervising and leading other GIS analysts
