Job Description

STC is a science and engineering research and services support company with proven expertise and experience spanning research, development, test, and evaluation in areas including aerospace engineering, earth and atmospheric sciences, chemical and biological defense, military systems and technology, and software development.

• Travel: Some travel is expected

Job Description:
Uses Geographic Information System techniques to provide a better understanding of certain variables in a given geographic location. Applies GIS theory and applications and recommends appropriate strategies in response to GIS analysis. Performs data conversion migration and translation activities using advanced processing techniques.

• Create or adapt maps and data sets for supplement analysis
• Provide database development support for cartographic and digital data products
• Design and implement efficient production tools and coordinate work flows
• Perform finishing of remote sensing data, produce and maintain cartographic databases, update cartographic data from intelligence databases, and produce mission specific data

Bonus points if you have:

• Direct GIS experience in support of a DoD agency

• Schedule: M-F, 8-hrs/days

Job Requirements

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Computer Science, Cartography, or related field

Job Requirements:

• 6 years’ direct experience in GIS and geospatial systems
• Excellent written and oral communications skills in English
• Proficient with multiple GIS software and technologies and programming language including Python
• Experience performing data conversion migration and translation activities
• Experience extracting data from GIS software and performing analysis on it
