Collin's Aerospace is looking for a Quality Engineer professional to join our team in Fairfield, CA. You will assist in influencing the process and planning decisions with knowledge and explanations of Quality Engineering policies, practices, and procedures.
This role will be onsite in Fairfield, CA and may be eligible for relocation.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for Product Quality Engineering of energetic products used in lifesaving systems and actuators on both aircraft and spacecraft.
  • Working with product design and specification, devises testing plans, methods and equipment to assure reliability of product Collaborates internally to ensure quality standards are in effect.
  • Performs Escape management procedures, root cause analysis, and recommends corrective action for design problems for internally produced products & processes.
  • Working in conjunction with Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and Inspection; devises testing plans, methods, and equipment to assure quality and reliability of product.
  • Reviews process control documentation to ensure product and process compliance with engineering and contract requirements.
  • Oversees the collection of data required for First Article Inspection Report and Acceptance Test Reports that will be send to customers. Prepares final drafts of reports and submits them to Data Management.
  • Provides analysis and recommendations for corrective actions for nonconformities and/or design problems for internally produced products & processes. May be asked to lead corrective action teams.
  • Conducts reviews to ensure all requirements are met for work transfer and process change management.
  • Ensures all requirements are met for work transfer and process change management.
  • Responsible for development of new inspection technologies or methodologies to assure product conformance.
  • Investigates Significant Out of Tolerance reports of manufacturing metrology from the Calibration Laboratory.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations with a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience in Engineering and/or Manufacturing.
  • Or an Advanced Degree in a related field (Industrial, Mechanical or Aerospace)
  • Or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience
  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Aerospace experience
  • Lean, ACE, or Continuous Improvement experience
  • Green or Black Belt Certification
  • Lean/Six Sigma Certification
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer
  • Successful completion of RTX enterprise OSCLDP in 2024

The salary range for this role is 70,000 USD - 142,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
