This position is for a Test and Validation co-op.

Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.Regardless of your role type, collaboration and innovation are critical to our business and all employees will have access to digital tools so they can work with colleagues around the world – and access to Collins sites when their work requires in-person meetings.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Will assist in researching, developing, designing, and tests electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks. ​

  • Learns about and will gain knowledge about designing electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes. ​

  • Gain knowledge in analyzing and evaluating new or improved electronic components. Includes power generation, transmission and distribution, rotating machinery, illumination, wire communication systems and servomechanisms. ​

  • Includes circuit theory, computer design and development, instrumentation, radio communications, semiconductor devices, solid state devices, and television systems. ​

  • Will help troubleshooting technical and electrical device problems, operates engineering software and equipment, and confers with stakeholders regarding engineering projects. ​

  • Performs engineering work and applied research, development, and design for new products to ensure quality standards and functional objectives are met. ​

  • Troubleshoots electrical devices problems to ensure that issues are resolved efficiently. ​

  • Will participate in resolving day-to-day technical problems on the production lines to minimize disruption. ​

  • Participates in technical preparations for new product development and implementation to ensure new products meet the required specifications. ​

  • Will have an opportunity to operates computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks. ​

  • Completes drawing designs as required to facilitate the engineering process. ​

  • Confers with engineers, customers, vendors and other stakeholders on existing and potential engineering projects or products

Basic Qualifications

Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
