MAJOR ACTIVITIES PERFORMED: 1. Demonstrates and abides by the Company Core Values, company operating principles, Career Success Standards. 2. Assists students in adjusting to Center life to enhance student retention by providing supervision, behavior modification, counseling, and by acting as a positive role model and mentor. 3. Ensures that student needs are met in a timely professional manner with the highest degree of customer service in mind. 4. Adheres to all PRH and CSDC policies and procedures, and the Center Operating Procedures. 5. Prepares reports and forms and documents in CIS case notes and files observations of student's behavior, performance, notable information or events, and progress towards achieving goals and objectives. 6. Maintains confidentiality, but reports significant events or situations immediately through approved channels to ensure the health, safety, and well-being of students and staff, and to ensure that required reporting occurs, and that students receive emergency services as needed. 7. Facilitates prompt and appropriate assistance to students in the event of injury, illness, or emotional trauma. 8. Meets individually with student assigned to their area responsibility at a minimum of once each month documenting the meetings in case notes. 9. Ensures equipment and assigned work areas are clean and maintained in accordance with Center, CSD, and DOL standards, including conducting quarterly property counts, submitting property relocation requests, may serve as a property custodian for area, and submits maintenance requests as needed. 10. Complete Evaluations of Student Program (ESP's) in a timely manner for students in assigned areas and may participate in evaluation panels. Provides other behavior and progress assessments as requested. 11. Responsible for instructing students in the Medical Administration career trade. 12. Provides classroom instruction, documents progress on Training Achievement Records with 100% data integrity. 13. Promotes a positive and desirable atmosphere within the classroom setting to insure maximum student motivation. 14. Maintains a high degree of discipline within the classroom setting in order to insure maximum learning. 15. Establishes a high degree of student/instructor rapport. 16. Utilizes all possible curriculum resources available. 17. Responsible for the maintenance of student personnel folders. 18. Records and forwards daily attendance to the Student Records area. 19. Assists in the completion of all necessary Job Corps forms. 20. Accountable for the cleanliness of classrooms. 21. Responsible for reports required by the Manager such as student/staff hours. 22. Attends required training. 23. Perform all similar and incidental duties as assigned. External: Not applicable QUALIFICATIONS: Required: Certified, licensed, or accredited in the state in which the center is located, or is accredited by a professional trade organization. Must have the ability to transfer topical knowledge to meet specific learning objectives. For NTC, instructor must be certified by union or trade organization, or by a national trade certifying organization (RO may waive if center is unable to hire certified or licensed instructors, but candidates must pursue certification) Preferred: Extensive practical knowledge of trade and teaching experience General Information: In order to perform the essential job functions of this position, candidate must be able to compose/write descriptive reports; use appropriate techniques to implement programmatic activities; verbally direct individuals and groups; remedy dysfunctional behavior; intervene with students in crisis with aggression control/safe physical management restraint techniques; successfully complete mandated training courses. Knowledge Required: Knowledge of methods needed to instill appropriate behavior as well as work and study habits in adolescent students; of housekeeping techniques and management; to read, comprehend, interpret, communicate and execute instructions or directives fluently in English.
