Senior Desktop Support Engineer

LCG Inc. is seeking a Senior Desktop Support Engineer responsible for providing strong technical experience in providing technical solutions. As a Senior Desktop Support Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficiency, security, and seamless operation of the organization’s IT infrastructure. You will be responsible for creating and maintaining automation scripts, ensuring IPv6 compatibility, supporting the Zero Trust initiative, managing Group Policy, creating, and deploying workstation images, and automating software and configuration processes.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts for various tasks including account creation, de-provisioning, workstation provisioning, and de-provisioning.
• Digitally sign all scripts and integrate them into the application whitelisting tool.
• Review applications and systems connected to workstations to ensure IPv6 compatibility.
• Document applications not compatible with IPv6 and collaborate with vendors or system owners for potential solutions.
• Support HRSA's Zero Trust Initiative by implementing new security-enhancing products or processes.
• Collaborate in developing automated methods for efficient account management.
• Ensure configuration management for images is maintained virus, malware, vulnerability free.
• Assist in maintaining current and future CIS Benchmarks for Windows 10/11 devices.
• Create and modify Windows firewall rules via Group Policy.
• Aid in the creation of Windows 11 CIS Benchmarks for future deployment.
• Troubleshoot group policy-related issues on workstations.
• Collaborate with existing Desktop Engineers to automate Windows 11 deployment for new workstations.
• Coordinate and provide standard technical and advanced expert technical assistance in support of Landesk or BigFix Remote Access, RSA token installation and use.
• Contribute to developing a deployment plan for existing workstations.
• Utilize endpoint management tools to automate software installation and uninstallation.
• Automate configuration changes to address vulnerabilities or customize OS/application settings.

Required Experience:

• Seven (7) to twelve (12) years of experience providing collaborative computing implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance support.
• Experience in developing Microsoft PowerShell scripts, particularly for modifying Active Directory attributes and Microsoft Windows 10/11 tasks.
• Strong understanding of CIS Benchmarks for Windows 10/11.
• Previous experience in building workstation images.
• Extensive knowledge of computer and user-based Group Policy.
• Familiarity with the OSI model and networking concepts.
• Understanding of the fundamentals of Zero Trust architecture and principles.
• Proven track record of mentoring and providing guidance to junior technicians.
• Experience in leading projects and initiatives.
• Self-starter with the ability to proactively address challenges and drive solutions.
