Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Charge Nurse to join our team. As a Charge Nurse, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily operations of the nursing staff. This is a critical role that requires strong leadership, excellent clinical skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care and assist with complex medical procedures as needed
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of nursing staff on assigned shift
- Assess patient conditions and develop individualized care plans
- Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols
- Monitor patient progress and make necessary adjustments to care plans
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Maintain accurate medical documentation and ensure compliance with regulatory standards
- Provide education and support to patients and their families
- Serve as a resource for nursing staff regarding clinical issues and best practices
Experience:
To be successful in this role, you should have the following experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in a healthcare setting
- Experience working with diverse patient populations, including children, infants, and individuals requiring specialized care such as hospice palliative medicine
- Proficiency in medical documentation systems, including ICD-10 coding
- Knowledge of diagnostic evaluation procedures and interpretation of results
- Familiarity with case management principles and practices
Qualifications:
In addition to the experience mentioned above, the ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in [state]
- BLS certification (ACLS certification preferred)
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment
