ClinicalNurse Consultant

Prestige Healthcare Serviceshasan immediate need for a Clinical nurseconsultant tojoin our team. The position is basedprimarily in our Washington, DC location, with occasional support to our PASkilled Facilities as needed.

The Clinical Nurse Consultant will be responsible tofacilitate healthcare services and review outcomes in an effort to improve patient care. The individualwill assist with facilitating changes in practices, professional developmentand enhance management policies to promote professional standards ofcare. Must have extensive clinicalknowledge of requirements in skilled nursing facility to support the facility’scare and services. The clinical nurseconsultant must be compassionate, possess good communication skills and anadvocate for patient’s best interests.

ESSENTIALDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

·Ensuresthat the facility is in compliance with Federal and DC regulations as well as theorganization’s policy and procedures.

·Conductsaudits of the facility's systems and evaluates for survey readiness, compliancewith Medicare requirements and optimal quality of care for each resident.

·Reviewsall resident information prior to submission to D.C. Health/regulatory agency

·Performsregular review of Electronic Medication Administration Records (EMAR), Point ofCare (POC), Point Click Care (PCC) to ensure compliance.

·Regularlymonitors wound care program in order to promote quality outcomes provided inthe facilities to ensure appropriateness and effectiveness.

· Reviews Risk management portal to ensure that incidentinvestigation and follow up are completed timely. incident reports and follow up notesregularly to ensure state reportable incidents are being reported, properprocedure is being followed and documented.

·Facilitatescompany policies and procedures related to patients and employees

·AttendsQAPI, monthly Infection Control, weight and psychotropic meetings

·Ability to support theDirector of Nursing and Administrator with day-to-day operations

·Provides mentoring andsupport for facility administrative staff and assists with problem solving asneeded

·Reviews medical recordsprior to any legal requests for documents

·Otherduties as assigned.

·Performsmonthly supervisory visits to all medication passers as needed.

·Monitorsthe careful and efficient use of supplies, checks medical supplies and see thatsupplies have been ordered as appropriate.

·Attendsmeetings as required; works cooperatively with members of the management andcare team, maintaining effective interdepartmental and interpersonal relationswith residents, staff, and visitors.

·Assistin hiring, training, planning assigning and directing the work of facilitystaff as needed.

·Addressescomplaints and resolves problems as needed.

·Conductsaudits including resident charts, medication room and QA interventions.

·Performscomprehensive assessment on residents.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform thisjob successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential dutysatisfactorily. The requirements below are representative of the knowledge,skill, and/or ability required.

·Bachelor’sDegree in Nursing required.

·Fiveyears management experience with experience in long-term care; Previousexperience as a Director of Nursing Services (DON) preferred

·Mustpossess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as an RN inWashington, DC (and reciprocity in Pennsylvania)

·Proficientin communication and writing skills

·Musthave a valid driver’s license., may require some travel

·Generalknowledge of professional basic nursing, restoratives and personal careservices.

·Abilityto read, and interpret documents, write reports, and correspondence and possess

·Highlevel of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situationsand documentation, and interaction with coworkers.

Theclinical nurse consultant will report to the Regional Clinical Consultant.

PHYSICALDEMANDS: Thephysical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee tosuccessfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonableaccommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to performthe essential functions.

·Mustbe able to move intermittently throughout the workday.

·Mustbe able to push, pull move and/or lift a minimum of 50 pounds to a minimumheight of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move and/or carry such weight aminimum distance of 50 feet.

·Thenoise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

·Abilityto travel within the assigned region, up to 75%.
