Capgemini is hiring an experienced energy and utilities industry Geographic Information System (GIS) Consultant to join our Intelligent Operations Practice. The GIS Consultant will provide delivery of high-quality GIS advisory services to a broad portfolio of clients within the energy and utility industry. As part of the Intelligent Operations team this individual will play a key role in designing and implementing intelligent infrastructure for Capgemini clients.
GIS Consultant Skills
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Provide overall operational and technical leadership for various electric and gas consulting programs related to GIS.
  • Represent Capgemini to prospects and existing customers and work with utility and gas operations personnel at all levels of the organization
  • Provide presentations and conduct workshops to identify, define, and capture business and technical requirements and best practices related to GIS projects.
  • Manage deliverables for the consulting projects, including use-case development, requirements gathering, and large-scale implementation strategy and road maps and reports
  • Coordinate and monitor consulting projects from initiation through delivery and serve as liaison between Capgemini and the client to ensure all targets and requirements are met
  • Identify GIS and operational system interfaces, constraints, and other non-functional requirements
  • Work individually or within a team on GIS technology consulting projects to meet specific customer requirements
  • Provide business development support to the sales team and account managers, including preparation and estimation of proposals for GIS consulting and implementation projects
  • Create business relationships and support sales generation with high-level contacts often through face-to-face and client site visits. Maintaining an ongoing business relationship with current clients to facilitate future sales
  • Actively participate in thought leadership activities such as blogs, conferences, and public speaking opportunities
Geographic Information System Skills
  • Experience working with ESRI ArcGIS software, including ARP, and UN.
  • Experience analysing spatial data using mapping software.
  • Discovering patterns and trends through spatial mapping of data.
  • Designing digital maps with geographic data and other data sources.
  • ESRI databases and data models.
  • Developing mapping applications and tools.
Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years’ industry experience working with Esri ArcGIS products with strong GIS technical knowledge
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience with GIS data quality, GIS data modelling, GIS business process integrations
  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Excellent written & oral communication skills

IT Transformation Managers optimize Business Technology capabilities and manage implementation, change and transformation on behalf of the client. They analyze and evaluate existing Business Technology capabilities (- organization, project management, service management and resources management). They define Business and IT objectives and identify gaps. They are responsible for the success of the transformation by designing the appropriate transformation roadmap and leading the execution of it. They also carry out skills coaching and consulting. IT Transformation Managers understand the financial implications of their proposals. Their plans must increase the productivity and quality of the complete IT landscape and life cycle by using client standards and procedures, control and quality management, rationalization and automation. They use industry standards and best-practices including a feasibility check and necessary adaptations for the client.
Required Skills and Experience:
The IT Transformation Manager plans and steers projects. He develops solutions for complex functional and/or organizational problems. The solutions consider existing structures, best practice methods and their financial impact (both within and without the project itself), adapted to the individual client situation. He is a competent point of contact for the customer’s middle management. The IT Transformation Manager isn´t only a trusted adviser but also acts as a selective coach. He supports reviews and audits; documenting and sharing acquired practical knowledge. He guarantees the quality of his results through broad knowledge of appropriate methods, clients, sectors and technology. For his division he contributes his knowledge and generates new offers for customers out of his project environment.
  • Qualification: 6-12 years of experience, Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Should be proficient in Business Change Management, Industrialization, Architecture Knowledge and Vendor Management
  • Should have progressing skills on Project Financials, KPI´s & Reporting
