Cape Henry Collegiate is Hiring a Lower School Assistant Teacher Near Virginia, VA
Position duties (include, but are not limited to)
- Teaching students individually, in small or large groups, across multiple disciplines, encouraging each child to reach his/her potential
- Supervision and safety of children at all times of the day including arrival, recess, lunchtime, and dismissal
- Assisting students with social/emotional learning support and guiding them to make good decisions with emphasis on treating all students with dignity and respect
- Preparing materials for lessons and ensuring classroom spaces are safe, positive, attractive, and clean environments conducive to learning
- Assuming full responsibility for the class in teacher’s absence
- Attending specialist classes as needed
- Maintaining professional relationships with all members of the school community
A minimum of three years teaching assistant experience is preferred.
BA/BS from an accredited college or university, with an interest in a teaching career preferred.

Significant standing, walking, moving, climbing, carrying, bending, kneeling, crawling, reaching, handling, pushing, and pulling.
