Canyon Primary Care in the heart of Kailua seeking an enthusiastic team player to join a warm and friendly environment to assist a Primary Care Doctor specializing in Lifestyle Medicine. See olakinolife.com for more information about the practice, the doctor and other related businesses.
As a Office - Medical Assistant you will be responsible for providing medical and administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the medical office. You will support doctors and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization and communication.

Hours

Part-time up to 32 hours a week. Hours may vary based on case load. Opportunity for advancement to FULL-TIME after successful trial period

Tuesday to Friday 8 to 4:30 pm, additional hours available

$17-21/hr (based on experience and may change based on performance)

Responsibilities

• Room patients and verify patient information by obtaining vital signs, interviewing patient, recording changes to medical history, confirming purpose of visit, and documenting relevant patient surveys.
• Support office receptionist to schedule and organize appointment, update and file medical records and insurance reports
• Identifying patients’ needs, clarifying information, researching every issue and providing solutions and/or alternatives
• Help patients by providing information, services, and assistance
• Assist in the delivery of clinical care as instructed by supervising healthcare provider
• Secure patient information and maintain patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records; complete diagnostic coding and procedure coding; and keep patient information confidential.
• Assist with continuity of patient care by troubleshooting and assessing delivery of care issues
• Work with physician and other staff to ensure continuity of care, including establishing communication with patients prior to appointments and scheduling follow-up appointments
• Maintain safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations.
• Serve and protect the practice by adhering to professional standards; facility policies and procedures; and federal, state, and local requirements.
• Assist in maintaining the medical inventory and perform preventive maintenance to keep medical equipment operating.
• Perform all other duties as assigned

Skills

• Proven working experience as a medical assistant or medical secretary
• Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures
• Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritise work
• Social perceptiveness and service oriented
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational and planning skills
