Camp Bow Wow Hoboken is Hiring an Assistant Manager Near Hoboken, NJ

TITLE: Assistant Manager
REPORTING: Reports to Camp Manager and Owner
SUMMARY: Serve as one of 2-3 Assistant Managers overseeing the front/back of house operations. 
DUITES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assign duties and communicate workflows for shift/day; ensure staff complies with company standards, policies and procedures; provide staff/shift with day to day guidance; 
  • Quality Control – ensure daily operations are performed effectively – front of house including check in/out, client payments, service delivery, client service issues; back of house: feeding-med procedures, cleaning quality/timeliness, prep room activities, grooming quality/timeliness and play yard management. Continuously review staff work, provide feedback to ensure operations are held up to the highest standards. Provide management with ideas to improve quality. 
  • Interviews – ensure high quality doggy interviews via Front of House staff, with effective customer communications; describe interview process, important aspects of facility, key procedures/policies for day care and boarding; ensure FoH asks for Warm Up Pkg sale.
  • Customer Service / Sales/Marketing – strong customer service orientated communications – ensure FoH staff is timely, complete and courteous in client communications; ensure staff is presenting benefits of day care packages and asking clients for baths and enrichments for every stay; attend events or complete assigned marketing tasks.
  • Staffing, Training – participate in new employee recruiting, interviewing process as well as hiring and training; train and re-train existing staff for appropriate roles, Yard, Runner (groom, meal prep, deep clean)
  • Cleaning– ensure staff is actively cleaning and completing cleaning tasks; inspect staff cleaning and provide necessary feedback; follow established shift, daily, weekly and monthly cleaning schedule through staff.
  • Maintenance Log – routinely review facilities (appliances, tools, gates, fence, technology, furniture, etc) to identify items in need of repair or replacement; share with owner-manager daily for repair/replacement
  • Daily Front Desk Log – routinely review log to understand all client activity for a shift/day; address issues as necessary. 
  • Supply Inventory – routinely review / tabulate the supply inventory; request re-orders and add re-orders into inventory tabulation.
  • Current Day Staffing - evaluate current day staffing to determine staffing needs based on day care, boarding, interview, enrichment, grooming demands for AM and PM shifts (call in AM shift staff, move staff from Mid to PM shift, call in PM shift staff, extend shift staff, etc.)
  • Safety Valve – support operations / staff when on site in cases where there are unexpected call outs (meals, enrichment, walks, front desk, grooming, etc.); be a resource when not on site (be available/on call for any urgent matters). 
  • Confidentiality – ensure all staff and operation matters are kept confidential for all staff members.
  • Team – ensure a fair, balanced, work load for staff members given tenure, skill, attendance and quality of work of each staff member; provide quality, timely staff feedback. Keep management up to date on staff performance; build strong team spirit; share/promote staff accomplishments/high quality work/milestones
  • Metrics – develop, share, review measurements of operations, service and sales to evaluate performance against goals/history; review with Manager / Owner.
  • Other – complete other duties as assigned by Manager / Owner.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma required; Associates Degree preferred.
  • 2 years of related experience.
  • Knowledge of general business operations.
  • Experience and proficiency in both leader, supervising & motivating staff.
  • Higher energy and strong commitment to operational excellence.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem solver; good critical thinker; good business judgment.
  • Versatile, flexible and willing to work in a dynamic, changing environment.
  • High professionalism; strong customer service skills.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK EVIRONMENT:
  • Frequently standing, sitting, walking and using stairs.
  • Often bending, stooping, or kneeling and exposure to loud noises and barking.
  • Exposure to potential minor injury risk – bruises, scratches, bites.
  • Occasionally lifting, pushing, carrying items.
  • Occasional exposure to outside weather.
