Production Supervisor

Location: Greensboro, NC

Position Type: Manufacturing, Production, Assembly

Overview: 

The Production Supervisor supervises and coordinates the work of employees who work on extrusion and assembly lines. Prepares work schedules, assigns work, and oversees the work product. Ensures operations and employees follow proper policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Engage in Employee Relations
• Communicate standards for safety, quality, and productivity
• Ensure compliance to quality system policies and department procedures
• Assign employees to positions on the production line and drive safe, efficient production
• Calculate and communicate performance against production targets
• Coordinate on the job training of new hires and skill development for existing employees
• Perform investigations using root cause analysis and communicate quality or work flow issues to area manager and support groups
• Assume delegated management responsibilities in the absence of Manager
• Accurately and efficiently document employee Time and Attendance, Merit/Performance reviews, Quality, Workmanship and Disciplinary issues
• Work and interact effectively and professionally with and for others throughout various levels of the global organization

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma / GED
• 1-3 years’ experience in a manufacturing setting, with extrusion and assembly experience a plus
• 3 years of supervisory experience, with Lean experience a plus
• Computer literate with experience in the Microsoft Office Suite and a working knowledge of ERP systems
• Understanding of labor standards and ability to calculate productivity against targets
• Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment
• Excellent problem solving skills with a hands on attitude
• Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for much of the shift
