JOB DESCRIPTION DETAILS Job Summary: Acts as clinical liaison between Administration and the Medical Staff, assisting with the coordination of medical staff services and administrative functions. Assists in the coordination and direction of overall operations of the Medical Staff Support function, including, but not limited to: Medical Staff Office, Credentials Office and Medical Staff Peer Review function. Education: Associates or Bachelors degree, combined with a minimum of five years# clinical healthcare experience required. Registration/Certification/Licensure: None Experience: Minimum of five years# clinical healthcare experience required. Other Requirements: Maintains unit-specific and hospital competencies, mandatory learning, and any clinical certifications required in accordance with the Staff Education and Training policy GA-057 and/or any other department requirements. One to three years demonstrated experience in Quality Improvement techniques; a minimum of two years# active experience in Joint Commission, Health Services Cost Review Commission (HSCRC), Health Care Finance Administration (HCFA), and State and Federal requirements and standards. Knowledge of Credentialing regulations and ICD/CPT coding processes and DRG/resource optimization preferred. Ability to handle multiple tasks with strong prioritization skills is essential. Thorough knowledge of medical terminology. Able to demonstrate proficiency with PC (esp. Microsoft office products) and various data management and reporting systems. Strong written and verbal communication and organizational skills is critical.
