Job description
This position supports the California Department of Public Health’s (CDPH) mission and strategic plan by strengthening health infrastructure to respond effectively to health threats and emergencies, tailoring practices to meet needs of communities that we serve, maximizing and stabilizing funding sources and demonstrating responsible financial stewardship.
The Associate Governmental Program Analyst (AGPA) performs the more responsible, varied, and complex analytical and fiscal tasks necessary to carry out the following primary COVID-19 functions for the Center for Health Care Quality (CHCQ): fiscal program evaluation, policy analysis, budgeting, documentation reviews, contracts, claims, invoice processing, stakeholder meetings and trainings by following the CDPH guidelines, State and Federal laws, and regulations. The AGPA utilizes with proficiency, Microsoft Office software such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook to perform the administrative work for CHCQ’s COVID-19 operational needs, as well as using other CDPH databases and systems. The AGPA must be able to operate with a high degree of independence and exercise initiative in performing tasks.
The incumbent works under the direction of the Staff Services Manager (SSM) I, chief of the Emergency Invoice Processing Unit (EIPU).
Teleworking may be available for this position, in accordance with CDPH’s Telework Policy and Procedures.
This is a 12 month Limited-Term Full-Time position that may be extended or become Permanent.

Candidates who reside outside of the state of California may be interviewed; however, the selected candidate must have a primary residency in the state of California prior to appointment (and continue to maintain California residency) as a condition of employment.
