Role and Responsibilities

Job Description Summary

The Civil Aftermarket group aims to keep flight simulators up to date so that they are at the cutting edge of the various aeronautical improvements that the industry offers. Our employees design innovative solutions to meet technological challenges on a daily basis.

The role we are offering you:

  • Working on flight simulators in the Dallas region, you will take the role of a Generalist/Integration-Specialist on projects and post-delivery services, acting as CAE's main point-of-contact for software related issues during Updates and Post-Ready-for-Training (RFT) issue resolution.
  • You will be part of a small multidisciplinary team in charge of updating the software components of the computing complex, the avionics, visual, motion, and other systems included in our flight simulator products.
  • You may be asked to provide on-the-job training to customers.
  • You will facilitate communication between our customer and our design teams in the resolution of software issues.
  • You will collaborate with the customer service representatives and Engineering/Support teams in the prioritization, coordination, and deployment of issues.

We are looking for someone who is/has:

  • A bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or as relevant experience
  • Experience in aircraft simulation and associated systems is desired.
  • Good working knowledge of Windows operating systems.
  • Working knowledge UNIX / LINUX operating systems is desired.
  • Knowledge of techniques and tools used for software debugging
  • A good understanding of software-hardware interface concepts.
  • A good understanding of integrated development environment softwares (eg. Visual Studio) and configuration management tools (eg. Github).
  • Understanding of C, and C programming languages and scripting languages
  • Eager to work in an environment of challenges and non-repetitive work.
  • Excellent communication skills and demonstrates leadership.
  • Takes the initiative to diagnose and troubleshoot issues autonomously.
  • Good planning, organization, and adaptability skills.
  • Comfortable working on customers sites in the area with a willingness to flex schedule to work when simulator time is available which will include evening and night shifts to a certain extent.
  • Means of transportation to allow them to visit site in the Dallas region.
