Cabin Creek Health Systems is Hiring a Nurse Practitioner Near Charleston, WV

Job Title: Nurse Practitioner 

Position Class: Exempt

Supervision Received: Chief Medical Officer 

Supervision Exercised: N/A

Time Allocated: 5 – 8-hour days 

Salary Range: $90,000- $105,000 (Based on experience) 

Cabin Creek Health Systems (CCHS) is looking for an Adult or Family Nurse Practitioner to join our community health center network. This position is located within our health clinic. We offer a flexible schedule and excellent fringe benefits. 

Locations: We are seeking Nurse Practitioners for Sissonville Health Center, Clendenin Health Center, Riverside Health Center, Kanawha City Health Center, and Charleston's West Side Health Center, set to open soon.

The NP addresses primary care, acute care, and infectious disease in populations among a diverse population within the area. 

Cabin Creek Health Systems (CCHS) is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), Patient-Centered Medical Home, with six integrated health centers, and five School Based Health centers, and is continually planning expansions and new program developments. CCHS offers many services including primary care, dentistry, 340B pharmacy programs, behavioral health, robust substance use treatment, pulmonary rehab, and many more.

  • Guardian Dental: Base Plan- Employee Only- $4.33/Employee plus 1- $8.66/ Family- $14.36

Base Plus Plan- Employee Only- $5.36/Employee plus 1- $10.73 Family- $18.02 

  • VSP Vision: Employee Only- $1.90/ Employee plus 1- $8.79/Family- $17.20

All amounts are per pay period and we have 26 pay periods per year.

  • Guardian: Short term Disability- Rate based on Employee Salary. Long term Disability- CCHS pays for this benefit. 
  • Guardian: Life Insurance, CCHS insures employee 2x annual salary up to $100k. Employee has option to take out life insurance on self, spouse and dependents. 
  • Guardian- Offers optional Accident, Illness and Hospital Indemnity Insurance. Employee can cover themselves, spouse or entire family. Price depends on coverage and annual salary.
  • Empower- Oversees CCHS 401k, Roth and Profit-Sharing Plan. Company puts in 6% each year into permanent employee’s accounts. Vested after 3 years. Employee can add money to their account through payroll deduction.

Responsibilities and Skills Required 

  • Primary Care Providers provide complete patient history, physical examinations, diagnosis, and plan for treatment of primary, secondary, and tertiary care services as outlined in, and in compliance with the standardized protocols for Nurse Practitioners. Primary care delivery includes communicating with patient or guardian of patient regarding care plans, results of diagnostic studies, and answering patient and family questions. Also included is organizing and delivering health education for patients, including general health information and disease specific education. The primary care provider coordinates patient referrals for specialized health care to public health care agencies.
  • Establish and maintain a confidential medical record for each patient.
  • Organize and administrate delivery of services offered by CCHS.
  • Communicate with Chief Medical Officer and regarding quality care and treatment issues of patients at CCHS. 
  • Assure that services are provided in accordance with specified policies of CCHS and regulatory agency's policies.
  • Serves as a resource and collaborative partner for community agencies. 
  • Ability to effectively use an electronic health record. 
  • Ability to compassionately care for complex patients. 
  • Ability to maintain calm under pressure and to prioritize patient centered care. 
  • Current WV APRN Licensure
