West Side, General Manager (West Side GM)

Supervision Received: CCHS Regional Director

Supervision Exercised: See section 2 below.

Position Classification: Exempt

Salary Range: $55,000 - $75,000, Depending on experience.


Summary of the Position:

Cabin Creek Health Systems (CCHS) is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), Patient Centered Medical Home, with six integrated health centers, and five School Based Health centers, and is continually planning expansions and new program developments. CCHS offers many services including primary care, dentistry, 340B pharmacy programs, behavioral health, robust substance use treatment, pulmonary rehab, and many more.

The West Side GM will oversee the internal and external operations of CCHS West Side, including but not limited to support of West Side community programming, partner and community usage of the facility, and clinical care within the health center. They will be responsible for clinical teams and more than 40 staff and ensure a safe productive environment for patient care across multiple programs. With support, West Side GM is responsible for the delivery and oversight of all patient care services responsibilities for all medical and non-medical administrative functions and overseeing all aspects of health center practice operations, and working alongside program directors and coordinators to ensure integration and cooperation.


  • Essential Duties and Responsibilities
    include the following, other duties may be assigned:
    • Organizational/Administration
      • Be responsible for directing, planning, organizing, supervising, and coordinating the services of operations at CCHS West Side.
      • Monitor and ensure that clinical and operational performance goals are maintained across the site. Works with senior management and clinical leadership to optimize staffing, appointment schedules, call system, referral tracking, policies, and procedures.
      • Collaborate with program leadership to ensure communication of goals, objectives, policies, and procedures both up and down the chain of command through meetings, huddles, and other platforms of communication.
      • Attend required meetings and participate in committees involving delivery of care as required/requested.
      • Maximize use of available staffing resources. Arrange for staff coverage where needed, occasionally collaborating with other CCHS CM’s. Work closely with CCHS senior management to analyze the delivery of patient care services and to identify strategies to fill identified gaps.
      • Assure accurate documentation and logs for programs such as Vaccines for Children, Family Planning, and the Breast, Cervical, Cancer Screening Program.
      • Manage materials to assure adequate medical and office supplies are available.
      • Provide input to senior management regarding long term planning and promotion of CCHS’ mission of providing quality medical care.
      • Manage clinic facility ensuring proper safety, maintenance, and functionality of space/site in order to meet regulatory and CCHS policy requirements. Make recommendations to senior management for improvements of facility/site as needed to meet these standards.
      • Responsible for ensuring an excellent patient experience and that patient and community complaints are addressed and resolved, if applicable, in a timely and responsive manner.
      • Coordinate general maintenance and facility management.
      • Collaborate with CCHS Communications to develop and implement messaging relating to the needs of CCHS West Side and/or our program operations.
    • Operations
      • Work closely with Clinical Leadership teams and Human Resources to ensure staffing gaps are filled in a timely manner with qualified individuals.
      • Coordinate staff training, orientation and on-boarding of new staff and retraining to further the professional development of the staff and improvement of patient care delivery.
      • Assure compliance with all OSHA, CLIA, and HIPPA regulations, including in-house inspections in alignment with CCHS policies and procedures.
      • Ensure clinical and administrative policies and protocols are followed appropriately.
      • Plan and coordinate work assignments to ensure that all staff members are well utilized and provide a quality service to our patients.
      • Evaluate staff and intervene with struggling staff utilizing the appropriate tools – coaching and counseling, performance improvement plans, terminations in alignment with CCHS Handbook.
      • Complete reports as needed for health center operations
      • Maintain patient confidentiality at all levels of interaction.
    • Community Programs
      • Facilitate community needs assessments to guide and develop community programs.
      • Maintain current Business Associate Agreements with cooperating partners, and space use agreements with community entities.
      • Coordinate outside partnerships and vendors, including childcare supplemental food market, etc.
      • Oversee current and future grants and funding related to CCHS, West Side and assigned programs.
      • Assist in program development and implementation as able.
      • In collaboration with CCHS Community Impact, maintain mission and vison of CCHS Community Programs, specifically in relation to CCHS, West Side.

  • Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Directly supervise clinical site Lead Medical Assistant and other non-clinical support staff. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with CCHS policies and applicable laws. In addition, West Side GM will need to ensure all service areas are operating as expected, and work with site and CCHS Directors to manage staff.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, recommending for hiring, and training employees; planning, assisting, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

  • Qualifications
    : To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • Experience working productively with professional and clinical staff required; demonstrated leadership, management ability and supervisory skills; including knowledge of health administration, and community health.
  • Proven track record of managing multi-disciplinary teams and operations in a healthcare setting.
  • Ability to write, read, analyze, and interpret reports required.
  • Proficiency in financial management, budgeting, and healthcare economics.
  • Ability to respond to inquiries and complaints from patients and/or members of the community.
  • Knowledge of computer systems and applications.
  • Skill in planning, organizing, delegating, and supervising,
  • Skill in verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to take initiative and to exercise independent judgment, decision-making and problem-solving expertise.
  • Knowledge of organization policies, procedures, and systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a diverse environment, fostering a culture of inclusiveness and respect.
  • Skill in developing and maintaining effective working relationships with staff, patients, public and external agencies.

  • Educational Requirements:
    Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Administration or similar field and two years supervisory experience required. Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration or similar field preferred. All qualified applicants will be considered.
