C W Hayden Company, Inc. is Hiring a Customer Service Representative Near Auburn, ME

We have an opening in our Auburn location for a Customer Service Representative. The hours are 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM Monday through Friday.

Summary/Objective
This position provides effective customer service by establishing a working relationship with internal and external customers via phone and email.

This position is responsible for creating new opportunities with our existing customer base as well as new customers by answering inbound calls and processing orders, received by telephone, fax, email or in person from customers or company employees. May have some outbound calling.

Essential Functions

  • Answer sales calls and provide timely and accurate information regarding customer order status and product attributes.
  • Create proposals and quotes.
  • Process customer orders/changes according to established department policies and procedures.
  • Edit orders received for price and nomenclature.
  • Answer questions regarding product operation or connects the individual to the appropriate team member with the applicable knowledge to assist them.
  • Inform customers of unit prices, shipping dates, anticipated delays and any additional information needed by the customer.
  • Receive and check customer complaints and direct these issues to the appropriate department.
  • Serve as the liaison between purchasing, sales and shipping on the customer’s behalf.
  • Provide timely feedback to management regarding service failures or customer concerns.
  • Partner with the sales team to meet and exceed customers’ service expectations.
  • Assist in maintaining and monitoring the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) SALESFORCE system.
  • Operate company Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software and work with applicable spreadsheets.
  • Confirm sales tax where applicable.
  • Enter quotes and upload information to SALESFORCE.
  • Build part numbers for new items.
  • Build price pages for item exceptions.
  • When necessary, this candidate must be able to back-up warehouse personnel to pick and pack products.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit, talk, hear, stand, walk, use hands to feel or handle product, and reach with arms. This is a largely sedentary role; however, on occasion some order fulfillment processing may become necessary. This would require the ability to lift up to 25 pounds. The individual would be required to stand, and walk primarily on level surfaces, reach above shoulder height or below the waist. Proper lifting techniques are required.

Required Education and Experience.

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Basic Computer Skills
  • Customer Service or Related Sales Experience

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Inside Sales Experience is a plus
  • Post-Secondary Education
