As the Graphic Designer will provide support in all phases of layout, design, and pre-press preparation of newspaper and circular advertising. Ensure that final deliverables meet quality standards established by the Advertising Design & Production Supervisor.

Job Description

• Full Time

• Location: Charleston, SC

You will contribute by:

• Digital page building of all weekly newspaper and circular advertisements and offering creative layout solutions based on the direction from the Design & Production Supervisor.

• Electronically execute mid-level design and layout concepts that are clear and concise on a Macintosh based platform and software applications.

• Execute work under tight production deadlines and ensure that the accuracy and the look of the printed product is consistent with established standards.

• Work collaboratively with Sr Designer and/or the Design & Production Supervisor to convert creative strategies into compelling and visually appealing designs.

• Manage a high volume of work to ensure that all established schedules and deadlines are achieved on a consistent basis.

• A sensitivity and knowledge of type to support creative solutions of design projects.

• Prepare proofs and other required files for internal and external review.

• Apply design experience and attention to detail to creative design solutions, proofreading and editing.

We’re searching for candidates with:

• Specialized Knowledge : Ad layout and ad production; Strong understanding of all phases of production and layout including pre-press preparation; Working knowledge in InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, PowerPoint, Microsoft Word and Excel.

• Special Skills : Expert Mac ad production skills; Extremely organized with excellent project management skills in order to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions and changing priorities; Excellent written and verbal communications skills; Must be detail oriented

• Physical abilities: Able to lift up to 10 lbs.

• 2-5: Relevant experience.
