Are you an experienced Motor Grader Operator looking for a challenging opportunity? C.R. Jackson, Inc. is searching for a skilled and self-motivated individual to join our team. C.R. Jackson is offering a paid hourly position in the midlands of South Carolina, but you could be located anywhere within our working footprint of South Carolina.
As a Motor Grader Operator, you will be responsible for performing proper pre/post-shift equipment maintenance, keeping the equipment clean, and safely operating equipment with strong hand, foot, and eye coordination. You will also be responsible for transferring and setting grades from established control, rough and fine grading horizontal surfaces, shoulders, and slopes to plan grade and project specifications, and fine-grading Cement Modified Reclaimed Base (CMRB) and other construction materials.
In addition to these responsibilities, you will be expected to assist with the general housekeeping of the job site, be flexible to perform other craft duties as needed, have a safety mindset while providing the highest quality product, and comply with all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is preferred as well. You must be able to understand/follow work directions and communicate effectively with supervisors and other crew members, maintain a good attendance and safety record, have the ability to work in a high production environment and respond quickly and effectively under pressure and deadlines, and pass a drug screen prior to employment and comply with the company’s Drug-Free Workplace standards. You must also meet the company’s employment standards with regard to background checks and possess a valid driver’s license with the flexibility to travel to job sites within South Carolina if necessary.
The position also requires fulfilling certain physical demands such as standing and walking during a regular shift, stooping, bending, reaching with hands and arms, crouching and kneeling as required for operation and/or maintenance of equipment, withstanding long periods of sitting when operating equipment, working with hands to operate equipment controls, carrying and lifting up to 50 pounds, maintaining alertness to the motion and activities of people and other equipment on the construction site, frequently walking on uneven surfaces, climbing on and off heavy equipment safely, working in varying weather conditions and work environments including hot or cold temperatures and dusty, wet, noisy, etc. environments, and working on job sites close to live lanes of traffic.
