WANTED:Virtual, Inc. is looking for a Business Development Specialist to join our team!
The Business Development Specialist, a mid-level role, will play a key role in helping a growth-focused professional services firm help identify, secure and then successfully integrate new clients and work into the organization. This client-facing, results-focused, and highly collaborative role is responsible for supporting a wide range of business development efforts, including lead generation assistance, sales support, and the ownership of new business integration processes. This role will be at the center of all business development activities across the organization and act as the liaison between departments and services during the pre/post sales processes. This role will also support the corporate marketing efforts of Virtual.
Preference for local candidates to work out of our Wakefield, MA office 3 days/week (Tuesday & Thursday anchor days, 1 floating day).Here's what you'll do:
  • Engage with prospects through Virtual's established sales funnel, from initial contact to successful onboarding.
  • Document conversations with prospects to ensure a crisp capture of critical information.
  • Facilitate all stages of the company's business development process, including driving communication and data flow through our service teams and other internal resources.
  • Assist the Business Development leadership and other service leads in identifying and tracking new business opportunities.
  • Perform research to identify contact information and possible opportunities in new business services and offerings.
  • Assist in qualifying leads from marketing campaigns and other referral sources; identify new leads.
  • Serve as the main support function for all business development activities, including prospective new clients and upsell opportunities; assist with the closing of new business.
  • Help with the development of new business and services proposals.
  • Collaborate with the corporate marketing team to ensure marketing materials are updated and that lead-generation campaigns are coordinated and effective.
  • Maintain the company's database of leads and opportunities (new business; upsells and projects); produce regular activity reports in support of business development priorities and activities.
  • Coordinate the contracting process with new and existing clients; helps ensure all client contracts are up-to-date and filed in accordance with procedures.
  • Serve as the lead project manager to integrate all new pieces of business into Virtual's services operations. This includes the development of onboarding/transition project plans as well as the communication flow, establishment of meetings, and taking steps to ensure deadlines are met with regards to new client (or new service) engagement.
  • Support & execute corporate marketing efforts to align with sales and prospects; such as social media, email marketing, etc.
As our next Business Development Specialist, you will bring:
  • 3-5 years experience in a sales administrative/support role or service delivery position, preferably in a professional services environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration is a plus.
  • Energetic and comfortable demeanor in an outwardly facing, customer-centered role.
  • Ambitious and motivated attitude to help drive desired sales performance.
  • Self-starter mindset, with the ability to work independently with limited supervision, collaborate effectively as a team member, excel under pressure, and possess strong problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with current lead generation practices.
  • Social media/marketing experience a plus.
  • Strong experience with MS Office suite, especially PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Prior working experience with a CRM required (Salesforce experience a plus).
  • Demonstrated aptitude in project management.
  • A detail-oriented approach, with strong and effective organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Excellent communication skills are required, both written and oral.
The target hiring range for this role is $55,000 - $65,000 USD (annually). The starting base salary will be determined based on skills, experience, location, and other job-related factors.
