Senior Accountant

SUMMARY
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant with expertise in Accounts Receivable, tax compliance, and revenue recognition to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing accounts receivable processes, comprehensive knowledge of tax regulations, and experience with revenue recognition principles. This position offers the opportunity to play a pivotal role in managing our receivable’s function, ensuring compliance with tax laws, and accurately recognizing revenue in accordance with accounting standards.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Accounts Receivable Management: Oversee the accounts receivable process, including invoicing, collections, and reconciliation. Ensure timely and accurate recording of receivables transactions.
Billing and Invoicing: Generate customer invoices accurately and in a timely manner. Verify billing information, terms, and pricing to ensure accuracy. Address any discrepancies or issues with invoices promptly.
Collections: Monitor accounts receivable aging and follow up with customers on past due balances. Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to resolve payment issues and facilitate timely collections.
Cash Application: Reconcile customer payments to invoices and apply payments to customer accounts accurately. Investigate and resolve any discrepancies or issues with cash receipts.
Revenue Recognition: Apply revenue recognition principles in accordance with accounting standards (e.g., ASC 606) to ensure accurate and compliant recognition of revenue. Analyze sales contracts and agreements to determine appropriate revenue recognition treatment.
Tax Compliance: Stay current on tax regulations and ensure compliance with sales tax, use tax, and other relevant tax laws. Prepare and file sales tax returns and other tax-related filings accurately and on time.
Reporting: Prepare regular reports on accounts receivable aging, collections activity, and revenue recognition. Provide analysis and insights to management on receivables performance, revenue trends, and tax compliance.
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline and improve accounts receivable processes, revenue recognition procedures, and tax compliance activities. Implement best practices and automation tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Audit Support: Assist with external audits and provide support for audit inquiries related to accounts receivable, revenue recognition, and tax compliance.
Ad hoc: Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as requested.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
3 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on accounts receivable, revenue recognition, and tax compliance.
Thorough understanding of revenue recognition principles and tax regulations.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) and Microsoft Excel.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to speak Mandarin preferred.
