This role is remotely based or can be hybrid out of one of our offices. We are unable to offer sponsorship for work authorization for this role.

The Sr. Director of Business Developmentis responsible for new business and revenue generation, supporting enterprise members in finding products, solutions, and services that best meet their needs. The role carries out sales activities for business development at the enterprise level, establishes rapport to build relationships, assesses business needs, and cross sells additional Platform offerings that will benefit members. The position specializes in new account development and/or expanding existing accounts.

Your impact:

  • Identify and qualify excellent quality new business leads at the enterprise level
  • Contact potential new business clients to establish rapport and open business communication
  • Research prospective accounts in target markets, pursue leads, and follow through to successful conclusion
  • Understand our company and all verticals, the competition, and the industry; contribute to identifying and strengthening our weaknesses, while building our core values
  • Major focus will be new business and cross selling for all sectors of BEP Enterprise
  • Follow through to a successful agreement and contract execution
  • Increase the value of current customers while attracting new ones
  • Find and develop new markets and improve sales
  • Attend conferences, meetings, and industry events
  • Collaborate with support and sales teams to ensure that requirements are met
  • Maintain relationships with current clients and identify new prospects across all segments in foodservice
  • Develop quotes and proposals for clients
  • Develop goals and ensuring they are met
  • Keeps all potential and current client/lead information current using CRM
  • Makes sure sufficient research is done before engaging
  • Follow the latest industry developments and stay up-to-date on competitors
  • Fully engage member companies in developing solutions and presentation
  • MUST be passionate about the Buyers Edge Platform mission
  • Be proficient in:
    • Salesforce
    • Microsoft Business Tools - i.e., Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Possess a strong understanding of our products, our competition in the industry and positioning
  • Strong presentation and negotiation skills
  • An entrepreneurial spirit who values a team environment
  • Good computer knowledge and a readiness to learn new technology
  • Efficient, detail oriented, and well organized
  • Have strong communication and relationship management skills
  • Excel in explaining complex information in ways that are easy to understand
  • Ability to work hard and have a thirst for knowledge with a "do what it takes" attitude
  • Agile and thrive in fast-paced work environments

  • A valid, unrestricted driver's license with the ability to rent a car is required

About you:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Ability to travel at least 25% of the time
  • 8 years of sales experience in, and a deep understanding of, the foodservice industry
  • Experience negotiating terms and preparing sales agreements
  • 20 years working in leadership roles in operation, distribution and supply chain
