POSITION SUMMARY:

The Maintenance Technician is part of the facilities and maintenance team. This position takes pride in caring for the Butterfly Wonderland facility to ensure it stays clean, safe, and orderly for our guests and staff. This position requires a warm, friendly, detail-oriented personality to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist Facility Specialist on all necessary repairs, including wall repairs such as painting and replacing filters in swamp coolers and air conditioning units.
• Cleaning interior building two days a week using the daily checklist.
• Report all nonfunctioning equipment directly to Facility Maintenance for assistance in repairing or replacement.
• Assist the Café Manager with stocking and replacing heavier pieces of soda equipment.
• Be actively involved in organizing and maintaining supply closets, including placing supply orders as needed. 
• Any additional assigned duties.

Requirements

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or equivalent and 1-year previous general maintenance experience
• Minimum 2 years of commercial maintenance experience or equivalent
• Must be familiar with current building codes.
• Must be mechanically inclined.
• Must be familiar with current OSHA regulations.

PHYSICAL AND MEDICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to work a flexible schedule, which may include evenings and/or weekends and holidays.
• Successful completion of all pre-employment screenings.
• No history of allergies related to animals or plants, which might interfere with the ability to work.
• Team members must be able to occasionally lift, move, carry, push, or pull up to 50lbs. 
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time. 
• Ability to use hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms.
• Ability to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb stairs, or crawl. 
• Required to frequently talk and hear. 
• No impairment of sight, smell, hearing, touch, balance, and agility of movement, which might interfere with the ability to work. 
• Must be able to take directional cues directly or indirectly.
• Ability to work in an environment that may be loud at times.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions, including occasional extreme hot or cold and wet and/or humid conditions.
