Bustleton Learning Center is Hiring a Head Start Assistant Teacher Near Philadelphia, PA

Job Description

Job Description

We are seeking a passionate Head Start Assistant Teacher to join our organization! These individuals will assist in the planning and presenting of age appropriate activities for children, ensure health and safety, and assist our program in providing high-quality care to children and their families.

Responsibilities:

  • Instruct children in activities designed to promote intellectual and creative growth
  • Create a fun, nurturing and safe learning environment
  • Develop schedules and routines to ensure adequate physical activity, rest, and playtime
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with students and parents
  • Communicate with parents on students' growth and progress
  • Maintain the health and safety of all students
  • Work collaboratively with teaching team in classroom and center to maintain an effective and positive work environment

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in childcare, teaching, or other related fields, preferably STARS 3 or 4 programs
  • Passionate about working with children
  • Ability to build rapport with children, families and coworkers
  • Positive and patient demeanor
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Clearances, health assessment and negative TB shot required
  • Minimum of a CDA required, preferably enrolled in an Associates degree in ECE.
