We are currently seeking a Human Resources Business Partner to join our headquarters in Philadelphia, PA.

Position Summary

The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) will serve as a dedicated partner and advisor focused on the people strategies of a Burns line of business. The HRBP will assist in the development of HR strategy and the implementation of programs and policies to help support the short- and long-term needs and goals of the line of business and overall organization. This position will provide a great opportunity for an individual to learn and gain experience in all facets of the Human Resources function.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the management team to understand the strategy, operations, and needs of the line of business. Participate in management and staff meetings.
  • Provide day-to-day tactical Human Resources activities including on-boarding, leave and FMLA, benefits administration, open enrollment, unemployment compensation, workers compensation, employee relations, HRIS system audits, employee engagement, performance management, training and development, compensation management, work authorization (visa) procedures, compliance, etc.
  • Drive participation and compliance in performance management, compensation management, open enrollment, implementation of new programs, processes, and procedures, engagement activities, succession planning, training & development, etc.
  • Partner with vendors to resolve issues related to benefits, leave of absence/FMLA, etc.
  • Lead the project management effort for annual activities and/or the RFP for new offerings.
  • Ensure data integrity for all employee and employment data in the HRIS system. Provide information and data to managers to proactively identify trends.
  • Act as a Burns' brand ambassador by building relationships with existing employees and continually gaging and promoting engagement. Represent Burns' at professional organization events and universities. Collaborate with the Marketing Department to promote company and employee accomplishments on social media.
  • Champion and promote engagement and recognition activities throughout the organization. Assisting line of business managers with engagement results and establishing specific goals based on the data.
  • Assist / lead employee relations and investigations. Promote accountability and direct communications during the resolution process.
  • Complete federal, state, and/or local compliance reports including EEO-1, OSHA, VETS-100, etc.
  • Act as a Burns' culture ambassador by visiting offices and engaging remote employees to keep them informed of Burns activities.
  • Act as the HR subject manager expert for the line of business.
  • Actively communicate with managers to gather employee data and promote succession planning and career development through performance management.
  • Create and deliver Human Resources training. Promote the Burns learning management system.
  • Participate in Burns' various committees (social, wellness, and philanthropy).

Key Requirements:

  • Qualified candidates will have a Bachelors Degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Communication, or related subject matter (experience in lieu of degree will be considered)
  • A minimum of 5 to 7 years of Human Resources Business Partner experience specially supporting a line of busines(es).
  • Successful candidate will have experience in employee relations, HRIS systems and reporting, onboarding, benefits administration, performance management, compensation management, training, workers compensation, leave management, and driving results.
  • PHR or SHRM-CP or other related certification is preferred.
