Job Description

Job Purpose: 

As an Inside Sales Consultant, you work to improve the company’s market position and achieve financial growth. You are responsible for building key customer relationships, identifying new business opportunities, closing sales and maintaining an extensive knowledge of the current market conditions. To achieve this, you will need to engage potential new customers with guidance from the Director of National Accounts, present to them, ultimately convert them to customers, and continue to grow business in the future.

Organization Structure and Interface:

This position reports to the Director of National Accounts, who will give direction on sales strategy and review performance regularly. It is critical the Inside Sales Consultant and the Region’s Account Managers work together to maximize the revenue potential within the Region. The Inside Sales Consultant is expected to channel concerns through those who can make a difference, i.e., coaches, Account Managers and trainers. 

Essential Job Functions of an Inside Sales Consultant:

  1. Secure new business by calling assigned customers and identified prospects
  2. Plan persuasive approaches which will convince potential customers to do business with Burlington Medical, LLC
  3. Develop rapport and relationships with customers
  4. Strategically plan your new business pipeline
  5. Maintain a strong understanding of the healthcare market and the solutions/products within Burlington Medical, LLC
  6. Documentation of activities and opportunities in Burlington’s CRM system
  1. Drive retention, growth and profitability of accounts through the development and implementation of account strategies.
  2. Implement the company’s sales process to establish a culture of consultative selling to decision-makers. 

Performance Objectives

  1. Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals as determine by the Director of National Accounts
  2. New Business Development
  3. Generate quotes and close sales with potential new customers
  4. Build a robust pipeline of sales opportunities as appropriate within the defined territory
  5. Meet potential customers by growing, maintaining, and leveraging your network
  6. Know the decision makers with the customer’s organization
  7. Plan approaches and pitches
  8. Handle objections effectively and use a variety of styles to persuade customer

  2. Present new products and solutions and enhance existing relationships
  3. Work with the Account Manager and other internal associates to meet customer needs
  4. Conducts quote follow up with assigned accounts and/or region accounts as directed by RVP
  5. Participate in internal and external customer reviews organized by the Account Manager

Job responsibilities of the Inside Sales Consultant may be subject to change based on the management discretion to achieve corporate objectives

Basic Requirements:

Office Experience 1 Years of B2B selling experience or the equivalent transferrable experience

Education College degree preferred

Computer Literate Demonstrates basic keyboard skills and a strong understanding of Windows based applications including MS Office and Excel

Time Management Past performance confirms ability to effectively prioritize and plan schedule

Communication Articulate and professional over the phone and in person; uses interpersonal skills to build positive working relationships

Positive Mental Attitude Demonstrates via examples of looking at challenges as opportunities and views feedback as ways to improve both personally and professionally

Team Player Provides examples of actively participating and contributing to a team and achieving goals/mission
