SAS Safety Corp., a leading industrial safety manufacturer and distributor for over 40 years, and is seeking a Quality Control Inspector that is safety minded and detail-oriented. The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for performing inspections on in-coming parts and materials used in our products, ensuring proper internal and external assembly and dimensions meet product engineering specifications utilizing precision measuring instruments. The Inspector will also perform random inspections on in-house rework and any other task requested by SAS management.

Responsibilities:

• Inspect, test, and sample products, assemblies, and parts shipped by the vendors for defects and deviations from internal and/or external specifications in accordance with ISO 9001-compliant procedures
• Discuss inspection results with those responsible for products, and identify necessary corrective actions for internal issues.
• Complete the required rejection reports (NCRs), logs, and execute/facilitate MRB dispositions
• Retain and manage acceptance criteria samples from inspections to increase product knowledge
• Verify and maintain traceability of products, their conformance status, and maintain positive control on all nonconformities detected
• Maintain calibration of tools, including recall from other departments
• Training of any additional personnel that assist or provide Quality Inspection support
• Support process improvements and provide feedback of relevant processes
• Maintain a high standard of work with a focus on product and data integrity, record keeping and organization, and thoroughness
• May be asked to cross-train on other functions within the Company
• Support internal and external auditing activities
• Adhere to ISO 9001 requirements, company policies, EHS, OSHA and other regulatory requirements

Requirements:

• A high school diploma/equivalent preferred or equivalent work experience
• Carry out quality inspections on mechanical components and parts, with proficiency in the use of micrometers, fabric measuring tapes, and calipers
• Must work from internal PIM system specifications detailing characteristics for inspection, ERP and PO notes, and work instructions
• Computer skills shall be adept for cloud-based social media, MS Office (Word, Excel, E-mail), PIM system,
• Must have effective English verbal and written communication skills
• Is required to prepare accurate discrepancy documents, inspection reports and maintain inspection data, referencing the latest version
• Ideal candidate will have 1-2 years dimensional inspection experience, laboratory testing experience is a plus
• Is required to communicate effectively with all levels of management

Schedule: Monday – Friday

SAS salary range: $24.00- $27.00 per hour based on experience, education and geographic location
