Responsibilities:

• Develops and implements departmental goals, plans, and standards consistent with the clinical, administrative, legal, and ethical requirements/objectives of the organization.

• Directs and evaluates departmental operations, including patient care delivery, information technologies, service level determination, and complaint management, to achieve performance and quality objectives/goals

• Plans and monitors staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions, and initial and ongoing education initiatives.

• Prepares, monitors, and evaluates departmental budgets, and ensures that the department operates in compliance with allocated funding.

• Coordinates and directs internal/external audits.

• Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth.

• Ensures the department stays focused on its important role in the continuum of care.

• Oversight of student clinical rotations.

• Oversight of educational programs to include externships, apprenticeships, and others.

• Plans educational events to ensure regulatory readiness.

• Other duties as assigned.

• Master's degree required

• Registered Nurse in North Carolina or a Compact state is required

• BLS required

• Staff Development experience

• Management experience

• Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills.

• Proven leadership ability and hospital operational ability.
