Job Description
Department: Laundry
Position: Laundry Aide, EVENING shift, PART TIME
Qualifications:
- Must have the ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Must be able to read and write.
- Minimal laundry experience is necessary although position entails mostly on-the-job training.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds and climb 2 flights of stairs numerous times per shift with linens.
Responsibilities:
- Keep laundry equipment clean and dusted and laundry room neat and orderly.
- All pads, linens, and personal clothing shall be washed each shift, leaving only what cannot be washed and put away.
- Keep inventory of soaps, bleaches, and chemicals used in laundry.
- Notify supervisor of any malfunctions of machinery in laundry room immediately.
- On-the-job training will be used to teach the methods and procedures for handling laundry.
- Report for duty at specified time.
- Pick up soiled linens from all deposit areas.
- -according to halls for case of distributing.
- Deliver the Resident clothing to the rooms and place in closets or dresser drawers.
- Always attempt to determine owner of urunarked clothing.
- -Dry and fold all towels, bedding and other items used for Resident care and return to proper storage areas.
- Clean all equipment and laundry area daily.
- Clean filters on dryer after every load.
- Always report any apparent shortage of linen on the floor to the supervisor or administrator.
- -as time allows.
- Mop floor in laundry room daily.
- Iron all clothing items that is too wrinkled to be returned and worn by the Resident.
- When folding clothes, lay them on the tables to fold. Clean clothes should never touch the floor.
- Do not overload the washers or dryers.
All items shall be clean, mended (if needed) and wrinlde free when returned to storage place. (linen cabinet, Resident room and laundry storage)
Our goal is for all Residents to be neat and clean at all times. And your responsibility is to see we have the clothing to complete this goal. It is an important responsibility and very essential to good care and a good Home.
Mop heads from Janitor cart and Soiled Linen room shall be washed daily.
Periodically, the divider curtains must be laundered 2 at a time. Dried separately, and returned to be rehung as soon as possible.
