Description

SUMMARY

The Risk Manager will oversee the risk management and quality improvement program in accordance with current applicable federal, state and local guideline while providing educational and learning opportunities within a supportive environment that will assist personnel in gaining knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to perform assigned duties while minimizing risk to the residents, staff and facility. Monitor at risk residents and their plan of care to ensure quality care that complies with state, federal and corporate standards.

Qualifications


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Understands, participates and assists in implementing the Quality Improvement Program.
  • Coordinate the establishment and maintenance of an internal Risk Management/ Quality Assurance Program.
  • Provides risk management, risk reduction, and quality assurance/ improvement education to staff at orientation, annually, and as needed.
  • Has an intricate knowledge and understanding of resident assessment, care planning and quality indicators with the ability to identify at risk resident and evaluate appropriate interventions/ documentations.
  • Reviews and assesses risk management policies and protocols; makes recommendations and implements modifications and improvements.
  • Coordinates monthly QI meetings for Drafts and presents risk reports and proposals monthly.
  • Provides and assists departments with QI problem tracking forms as well as infection control tools, chart audit forms and other forms to assist with tracking and monitoring compliance with State and Federal Regulation.
  • Actively participate in Standard of Care meetings, review of 24-hour reports, and attend safety and quality assurance committee meetings. Utilize these meetings to identify at risk situation, trends in performance or behavior, and adjust educational program accordingly.
  • Participates in the survey process.
  • HIPAA Compliance officer.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required, ASN required/BSN preferred.
  • Previous Risk Manager experience preferred.
  • Infection Prevention and Control Officer Certification required or must be willing to complete IPCO training and certification within 30 days from date of hire.
  • 1-3 years’ experience in Pediatric or ventilator experience preferred.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

  • Exercises functional supervision in specific situations over personnel.
  • May assist in the interviewing and hiring of professional and nonprofessional nursing personnel.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • State license RN Registered Nurse
  • Valid Florida Driver's License
  • CPR/First Aid Certifications

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
