SUMMARY
Assists with the day to day operation of the Dietary Department under limited supervision.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Practices appropriate hand hygiene and glove use when necessary during food preparation activities, such as between handling raw meat and other foods, to prevent cross-contamination.
Understands safety and sanitization standards for using equipment and maintaining facilities.
Ensures safety of facility floors, aisles, shelving, and walkways by eliminating factors that can cause trips, slips, and falls.
Understands and follows prescribed diet orders, menu spreadsheets, and other corresponding recipes and/or client nutrition information.
Completes all duties from the "Daily & Weekly Schedules".
Prepares and cooks all food per provided recipes.
Puts away all stock in an organized manner, using first in, first out procedures.
Cleans and sanitizes work area.
Implements proper food handling, cleaning and ware washing techniques to
ensure optimal infection control.
Observes proper techniques of body mechanics in lifting and other physical
labor.
Completes all necessary paperwork for NSLP and Department of Health.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Valid CPR and First Aid card HIV Course and HIPPA Course
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
There are no supervisory responsibilities for this position.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
