Tactical Designer (Newsletter & Email Marketing Specialist)

Long-Term Contract-to-Hire

We are seeking a Tactical UI/UX Designer with expertise in newsletter and email marketing design to join our Media & Journalism on a Contract-to-Hire basis. This individual will play a pivotal role in the day-to-day design operations, focusing on the tactical implementation of design tasks, particularly in the realm of newsletters and email marketing campaigns. The successful candidate will work closely with our product team, content managers, and QA to ensure the delivery of high-quality designs that meet our strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the Marketing Strategy team to gather requirements from Jira tickets and translate them into actionable design tasks.
• Utilize design tools such as Chameleon, Figma, Sketch, or Adobe Suite to create visually appealing designs for newsletters and email marketing campaigns.
• Draft up templates for email marketing campaigns and assemble content provided by writers.
• Issue user testing to ensure the effectiveness and usability of designed materials.
• Work closely with product managers to coordinate newsletter designs and align with strategic goals.
• Use various systems for newsletters, ensuring consistency and efficiency in design implementation.
• Execute phased approaches for newsletter designs, including subscriber newsletters and free newsletters, with quarterly iterations.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Experience with design tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe Suite.
• Specialization in newsletter and email marketing design, with a focus on retention-facing designs.
• Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Experience with HTML and CSS is a plus but not required.
• Demonstrated track record in designing high-quality, engaging content for email marketing campaigns.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
• Attention to detail and a passion for delivering exceptional design solutions.
