Software Engineer

Long-term W2 contract with potential for conversion

Pay rate: $60-$70/hour DOE

Overview

Our Fortune 500 MSO Client is seeking several Software Engineers to join their team. In this role you will work with technical teams to create software solutions that use prevailing technologies and improve the customers’ experience while adhering to business and technical requirements. Develop, modify, enhance, and implement software systems designed to support business initiatives.

Responsibilties

• Actively and consistently supports all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
• Design and implement new functionality that is testable and performant with limited oversight and guidance following best practices and approved code patterns.
• Understand and apply applicable technology security and industry regulatory and legal compliance considerations.
• Identify fixes to defects raised.
• Identify system integration issues.
• Lead code review, debugging, and testing of software applications.
• Provide an LOE on a project / feature level.
• Develop software independently and write testable and performant code.
• Develop technical requirements and technical design documents.
• Support major deployments and resolve critical deployment issues.
• Collaborate with other team members to identify and solve technical problems.
• Respond to customer inquiries around the behavior of the developed software.
• Mentor Software Developer I and Software Developer IIs.

Skill Requirements

• 3-4 years of experience with JavaScript and Node.js back-end framework.
• 2 years of experience with Angular or React or a similar front-end framework is desired, but not mandatory.
• At least 3 years of experience with databases, with a strong preference for experience in document databases like MongoDB.
• 4 years of experience in developing RESTful APIs.
• Understanding of asynchronous development and data security principles.
• Experience with testing frameworks like Mocha or Jest and familiarity with TDD/BDD methodologies.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes and implementing CI/CD pipelines.
• Demonstrated ability to write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code, and perform thorough code reviews.
• Experience mentoring junior developers and leading teams is desired.
• Excellent communication skills required; experience working in Agile environments.
