Job Description:

Brooklyn Global Prep is looking for French teachers for our preschool program (for newborns to 54 years old). The candidate should embody the school’s mission to create a child-centric haven that utilizes language immersion, creative open spaces, nature, art and music to continue the path of happy, culturally diverse, open-minded global thinkers and forever learners.

The successful candidate will:

• Lead a classroom in French in a fun and engaging way using a variety of hands on approaches to learning,
• Expose children to a wide variety of educational opportunities that encourage self-expression, communication, logical thinking, and problem-solving,
• Support children to excel in math, science, reading, and writing in the French,
• Care for young children and make sure they are safe, clean, and monitored at all times,
• Ensure city and state compliance at all times,
• Additional duties as needed for this role.

Position Qualifications & Requirements:

• Experience in a preschool or with young children,
• Fluent French speaker,
• Have experience caring for young children. This includes changing diapers, feeding, soothing children, etc...
• Ability to meet physical requirements of position which include lifting children, year-round daily physical activities, and more,
• Ability to play an instrument preferred but not required,
• Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred,
• NYS Birth - 2 Certification preferred but not required,
• Certifications in CPR, First Aid and Mental Health are preferred but not required.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract

Pay: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour

Experience:

• infant/toddler teaching: 1 year (Preferred)
• preschool: 2 years (Preferred)

Language:

• French (Required)

License/Certification:

• degree in early childhood education or related field (Preferred)
