Position: Small Business Specialist | Division: Sales & Service Group Mgrs

Work Days: Monday - Friday, & rotating Saturdays| Hours of Operation: 8:00am - 5:00pm

Purpose of the Position:
The Small BusinessSpecialist role is primarily focused on expanding a portfolio of existing smallbusiness customers that were previously assigned to Financial Center Managersand Business Bankers.This underservedportfolio of clients represents not only an opportunity to provide additionalservices and support in the small business space, but also an opportunity togrow and expand a consumer banking relationship.The Small Business Specialist will provideexpertise and assistance in both the small business and consumer space and willalso identify referral opportunities for other partners and lines ofbusiness.The Small Business Specialistwill also have the ability to add new customers to the portfolio throughbusiness development activities independent of their portfolios.
Key Accountabilities:
  • Quarterly contact with the assigned portfolio to re-introduce and re-establish the Bank's commitment to helping clients grow their businesses and save or make money.
  • Conduct quarterly financial reviews with the portfolio to include a review of current banking needs, both business and consumer, and offer appropriate advice, services and product solutions.
  • Engage other partners and / or lines of business when an opportunity is identified the Small Business Specialist cannot fulfill.
  • Initiate new business and consumer relationships with the Bank through outside business development activities including sales calls, community involvement, referrals and entertainment.
  • Work in conjunction with assigned Financial Center locations to support existing portfolio of clients, and develop strategies for attracting new high-value relationships .
  • Follow all policies,procedures and applicable laws.
Competencies and Skills:
  • Demonstrate small business and consumer bank acumen to include credit and deposit products.
  • Relationship management / portfolio experience to include defined contact strategy, credit and deposit products.
  • Business development experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of Bank's product and service breadth, and ability to uncover opportunity and engage partners / LOBs to support clients.
Work Experience Requirements:
  • 5 years of consumer and small business banking experience or experience in similar role
  • Business development and portfolio management experience
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong time managementskills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Education Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Four-yearcollege degree preferred
Other Qualifications:
  • Promotes a culture of collaboration and teamwork across organizational boundaries to encourage the overall growth of the Bank
  • Ability to work enthusiastically with all Bank team members, partners and lines of business to drive consensus and results
  • Energetic and self-driven personality with a desire to learn and grow professionally
Other Requirements:
  • Register and maintain registry as a Mortgage Loan Officer (MLO) with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) and Registry and in accordance with the Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act (the S.A.F.E. Act).
  • Meet and maintain financial responsibility, character and general fitness standards along with all other established requirements for an individual Loan Originator (LO) in accordance with Regulation Z.
