Individual Giving Coordinator
Reports to: Chief Advancement Officer

Manages: Volunteers and/or interns (as appropriate)

Salary: $55,000 annually plus benefits

ABOUT BROAD STREET MINISTRY:
Broad Street Ministry is an organization that helps Philadelphians living in deep poverty stabilize their lives

Purpose of position:

The Individual Giving Coordinator is responsible for leading donor prospecting, cultivation, solicitation,
acknowledgement, and engagement at all levels of giving—working closely with the Chief Advancement
Officer to build and manage a robust major gifts program. The Coordinator will take a lead role in planning the
annual campaign and donor cultivation and stewardship.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct donor research/segmentation and prospecting, including moves management strategies to
maximize giving by individuals at all levels (one-time, monthly, major, planned, capital, etc.)
  • Manage a portfolio of donor relationships and support other staff in managing their donor portfolios.
  • Assist in developing gift proposals and cases for support for diverse projects and prospects.
  • Grow monthly giving participation.
  • Create stewardship reports.
  • Develop donor cultivation, acknowledgement, and stewardship strategies.
  • Ensure proper tracking of donor engagements and gifts in eTapestry.
  • With the Chief Advancement Officer, develop and manage the end-of-year fundraising campaign, and
develop additional campaigns as appropriate.
  • Lead 2-3 smaller fundraising/friendraising events throughout the year and support the success of the
annual Gala event.
  • With the Chief Advancement Officer, assist the Board of Directors with fundraising and donor
engagement.
  • Raise awareness of and help to secure non-traditional and deferred gifts from donors, including gifts of
stock and other planned giving options.
  • Assist with newsletters, marketing collateral, annual reports, and other communications as needed—
especially as it applies to donor engagement.
  • Other duties as assigned or as identified in the annual Development Plan.

Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • At least three years of experience leading an individual giving program including donor engagement
through events and campaigns
  • At least two years of experience with major gifts and board relations
  • Demonstrated ability to build long-term relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders in a positive,
engaging manner
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Some experience with communications and PR preferred
  • Professional computer skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite, proficiency in
eTapestry, Wealth Engine; also, WordPress, Constant Contact or similar programs a plus
  • Experience writing for nonprofit, preferably for social services organization
  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Writing, Journalism, or related field or equivalent experience
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to work and cultivate relationships across a variety of sectors, communities, and
levels to ensure mission support and reach
  • Flexibility to work weekend and evening hours when necessary

This position is located at Broad Street Ministry, 315 S. Broad Street. At the discretion of management, this
role may be performed part-time, full time, or temporarily in a remote location within the greater Philadelphia
region. All remote (and partially remote) employees (permanent or temporary) will occasionally be required
to perform work on-site, and all or most orientations will occur on-site.
The successful candidate will receive a competitive compensation package that includes: medical, dental, and
