Job Description
SUMMARY
The combination of biotechnological and computational advances over the past decade has substantially augmented our ability to create high-performance methods, thereby driving discovery and development of transformative medical breakthroughs. While this accelerated pace of methods development offers great promise, the rapid expansion of novel techniques gives rise to new challenges in effective adoption and implementation. To capitalize on these exciting advances, the Broad Institute has formed the Methods Development Lab (MDL), with the mission of identifying high-value scientific frontiers and generating high-performance end-to-end approaches to enable the research community. The MDL is an organized and interdisciplinary team of researchers working in a coordinated fashion to develop effective molecular and computational methods.
We are seeking a Senior Research Associate who will work closely with members of the MDL to drive the development of novel -omic technologies that will positively impact the Broad Institute and technological capabilities of Broad Clinical Labs. Additionally, the Senior Research Associate will play a hands-on role advancing both core MDL and collaborative projects. The Senior Research Associate will work closely with Broad Clinical Labs to translate novel methods into production scale processes to make them available to the community. The Senior Researcher Associate will hold a lead role in lab management and organization.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Technical skills in library preparation, PCR, RNA-seq, DNA sequence analysis, cloning, flow cytometry, cell culture.
Ability to think creatively and solve problems
Strong data analysis skills.
Excellent communicator in written and verbal form.
Excellent organizational skills
Lab management experience.
Highly self-motivated, reliable and responsible.
Able to work both independently and as a part of a team.
Attention to detail in experimental techniques and record keeping.
QUALIFICATIONS
BA or master's in biology, biochemistry, or related field.
4 years experience
