Overview

A family in Greenwich, CT, is seeking a full-time, live-out career nanny for their children, aged 1.5 years and 2.5 years (they are having another baby in February but a newborn care specialist will be on board for at least the first 6 months). The schedule will be 11:30am to 7:30pm, Monday through Friday. 

The family will hire a second nanny to help at weekends and there is already a housekeeper/ nanny employed, who manages all of the food prep. Both children attend school - the eldest attends half days, 5 days per week (and will be full-time from September) and the youngest attends half days 3 times per week. Both children attend various extracurricular activities after school, so candidates should be comfortable dropping the children off/ accompanying them and picking them up. 

Candidates should be mature, professional, caring, with a high EQ and positive disposition. The parents appreciate good communication, a firm but fair approach to discipline, where boundaries are firm but the children are treated with respect and provided with choices, and where meltdowns/ bad behavior are not met with a reactive response, but patience and positive reinforcement. The family is seeking candidates who really engage with their children, who have a genuine love for children and a focus on encouraging the children’s physical, social and educational progress. The children love to read (they don’t really watch TV), be outside running around, arts and crafts etc. Mom will be heading back to work in Fall, though the parents do enjoy managing the morning routine/ school drop off themselves, so this won’t affect the nanny’s schedule. 

There will be travel to both domestic (Rhode Island) and international destinations a few times per year. A car driver is essential, and a vehicle is provided for use on duty. Given that there will be a newborn in the home, only those candidates who are COVID vaccinated, and up to date on their Tdap, MMR and Flu vaccinations, will be considered. Candidates must also be non-smokers and strong swimmers. The family are seeking a long-term commitment and are willing to pay competitively for the right candidate.
