Overview

A lovely couple in Rye, NY is seeking a full-time nanny/housekeeper for their toddler-age son. The schedule will be Monday through Friday and is flexible day-to-day based on the right candidate, but could range from 40 to 50 hours per week, with a typical schedule falling around 8am to 6pm or 9am to 5pm. The agreed upon number of hours will be guaranteed week to week. Job responsibilities will include care and engagement of the 1.5-year-old in coordination with active and involved parents and the maintenance of tidiness and cleanliness of the family's home. The nature of the role will vary, but will include a split of responsibilities between childcare and housekeeping depending on the week or day. Their son participates in at least one activity or class outside the home each day and has a predictable afternoon nap. In the coming year, he will begin a morning pre-school program as well. When with the child, the person will be responsible for his care and engagement; playing with him, managing nap and meal schedules, and keeping him safe. They hope this person will be warm and loving, but experienced enough to maintain boundaries with their son. Housekeeping duties will include straightening up the home (making beds, picking up toys, cleaning up the kitchen), maintenance cleaning (daily vacuuming, filling and emptying in the dishwasher etc.), laundry, and preparing meals for the whole family. The most important quality in the candidate will be a proactive team-player mentality. The duties will change on a weekly basis as well as year-over-year as the child gets older, so they hope to find someone who is just as happy to stay home and clean-up, run an errand, or take their son to a park to play depending on the day. You must have excellent communication skills, as you will be working on a team with mom in this role. You must be energetic, warm, and proactive.
