Position Summary:
The Behavioral Health Technician will be responsible for providing support to all entities of the business to ensure efficient operation of the practice. This role is essential to ensure the physician practice runs efficiently and productively while upholding medical office policies and procedures. You will support Medical and Behavioral Health providers and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization, and communication. Excellent communication and organizational skills are essential.
Job Responsibilities:
- Work in fast paced environment. This position will also demand flexibility in schedule to prepare for provider workday and to best meet patient needs.
- Prepare charts/documents to assist provider in an efficient workflow of daily visits, conducive to quality care for patients.
- Conduct screening/assessment interviews with new patients prior to their first visit to collect and chart patient demographic information, medical history, allergies, current medications, behavioral health history, substance use history, family medical and social history, and other information as directed.
- Introduce the new patient to his or her therapist and assist with scheduling their first appointment.
- Facilitate evidence-based psychoeducational groups under the supervision of the Behavioral Health Program Manager.
- Possess above average technology skills and ability to navigate the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
- Possess cognitive skills necessary to understand medical terminology, medical records and carry out physician/provider instruction.
- Work cooperatively with medical providers, behavioral health providers, medical assistants, and practice manager to carry out the goals and objectives of our practice according to established policies and procedures.
- Under the direction of the Behavioral Health Program Manager assist the patient with case management duties supporting identified Social Determents of Health.
- Other duties as required by the Behavioral Health Program Manager
- High familiarity with HIPAA and 42-CRF Part 2 confidentiality requirements.
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- LCDC II, III preferred
