Job title: Public Relations Senior Account Executive

Location: New York, NY, in-office 3 days per week

Salary range: $75,000-$95,000 commensurate with experience

Derris creates unique messaging and executes strategic media relations programs that blend traditionally separate practice areas to offer clients a holistic approach to both consumer and business storytelling. A few of the clients on their roster include: Warby Parker, Reformation, Everlane, Good American, Harry's, Bombas, RSE Ventures, Juxtapose and Away.

Role accountabilities:

• Lead client relationships and day-to-day contact alongside senior members of the team
• Set the tone for client meetings, while driving both internal and external projects forward
• Serve as a tactical execution expert with a key role in strategic planning for your accounts
• Pitch media across broadcast, print and online while focusing on feature and high-priority pitching
• Establish, cultivate and maintain strong media relationships
• Proficiently draft all client materials, including messaging and strategy documents
• Play a role in the management and investment of junior level staff, giving appropriate feedback to team members and delegating account projects appropriately
• Manage both upwards and downwards, effectively communicating priorities and issues for team leaders
• Maintain strong attention to deadlines and ensure all projects are executed on time

Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of Public Relations experience, agency experience preferred
• Demonstrated ability to think through communication strategies and deliver tangible results
• Proven track record of pitching across a variety of mediums, with a focus on strategic media relations and results
• Ability to be detail-oriented, manage multiple clients and meet deadlines while also keeping the bigger picture in mind
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with daily management of junior level staff members
• Capable of working both independently and in a dynamic, high energy, team-oriented atmosphere
• Comfortable working across industries
