Position Summary

Based in Birmingham, the Development Manager is responsible for the solicitation of individual donors who support the ministry. Reporting directly to the Chief Development Officer, this person will manage a portfolio of current and lapsed donors, develop new donors, and be responsible for growing the revenue annually. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who is a strong internal and external collaborator and has the capacity and skills to manage an individual donor base, with a focus on the impact of investing in the mission of The Foundry.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to achieve annual individual giving targets
  • Ability to connect with and build trust and rapport with individuals
  • Self-starting, self-directing, and able to connect in a meaningful way with donors and prospective donors
  • Schedule and hold weekly meetings, both on-site and off-site, with donors and prospective donors
  • Develop and implement strategies for solicitation that will grow annual individual revenue, working collaboratively with other program areas to advance fundraising goals and programs
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work within a system and enhance a team
  • Able to speak on behalf of The Foundry Ministries
  • Skilled in both verbal and written communication
  • Effectively utilize The Foundry’s CRM to maintain records and conduct optimal moves management system.
  • Track, evaluate, and present briefs and progress reports on an ongoing basis and as requested.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree or three years of related experience in development, sales, or similar relationship and metric-based roles.
  • You are aligning yourself with the vision and mission of The Foundry Ministries as well as our organizational statement of faith.
  • Must successfully complete a background check and drug screening
  • Must be able to work occasional nights and weekends
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to travel to meetings and community functions
  • Other duties as assigned by the Chief Development Officer.
