MEDICAL A/R REPRESENTATIVE
Bridgeway Therapy Center is seeking a full time Insurance/AR Specialist that will review and research denials, post insurance payments, reconcile client accounts, data entry and submit insurance authorizations.
Duties/Responsibilities:
1. The ability to understand authorization/preauthorization requirements for each insurance vendor (policy). Will track the number of visits authorized and communicate with the client timely to include proactively requesting additional visits as needed.
2. Post insurance payments upon receipt and reconcile accounts.
3. Review and research denials, make corrections as necessary, follow through to payment.
4. Enter new clients into the EHR system and confirm eligibility.
5. Run monthly insurance eligibility checks.
6. Maintain a list of all claims that exceed a 45 day window and contact insurance companies to determine resolution.
7. Perform appropriate customer service for routine client or other inquiry calls. This may include authorization issues and denied claims.
8. Assist with business office tasks such as answering phones and/or greeting clients.
8. Will perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Skills and Abilities:
1. A minimum of a High School Diploma with 2 or more years of related medical office experience.
2. Will have a thorough knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPT coding guidelines and medical terminology.
3. Basic understanding of commercial insurance and medicaid.
4. Exceptional detail orientation, critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
5. Will have strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills and the ability to deal professionally and efficiently with management, staff, parents of clients/students and diverse populations.
6. The ability to keep confidential information and maintain HIPAA compliance. ·
7. Will have strong technical skills to include MS Office, Word, Excel, and Google Workplace, email and data bases.
8. Familiarity with EHR systems. Knowledge of Clincsource is preferred but not required.
9. The ability to uphold the vision, mission and values of Bridgeway.
This is an in-office position with the flexibility of working from home occasionally after established for a minimum of 90 days.
This position requires a valid state driver’s license and insurable driving record, and requires successful completion of an ODJFS, BCI and FBI background screening.
