Bridge Senior Living is Hiring a Director of Dining Services Near Savannah, GA

Position Overview
The Director of Dining is responsible for the oversight of all dining-related functions in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations. The Director establishes and implements policies and procedures, develops staffing plans, reports and budgets, coordinates with other departments, and ensures quality and safe sanitary Resident services.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Support mission, vision, and goals of the organization, upholding and promoting company culture and vision.
2. Oversee entire food service operation. Plan, direct, and evaluate activities of the dining and catering staff and functions, in compliance with all applicable rules, regulations, and guidelines.
3. Financially accountable for the dining services department. Operates the department in accordance with the approved budget.
4. Develop departmental budget and staffing plan.
5. Demonstrate positive Resident relations and community's quality care and service standards to Residents, Families, and guests. Support and encourage a positive dining experience for Assisted Living and Memory Care Residents as well as those in the Independent Living Setting.
6. Consult with Dining Manager and Executive Chef on issues of menu planning, care planning, food preparation, therapeutic diets, etc.
7. Participate in monthly Food Committee Meetings and review Resident comment cards / feedback to improve quality and operational efficiency.
8. Administer Associate Policies and Procedures. Develop, maintain and periodically update written policies and procedures and job descriptions. Orient staff and train on policies and procedures.
9. Make reports and recommendations to the Executive Director as necessary or required concerning the operation of the department.
10. Organize special events, parties, and banquets; coordinate, as necessary, with other departments.
11. Determine that meals are served at proper temperature and maintain an attractive appearance and appealing taste.
12. Conducts monthly in services for safety and sanitation with staff.
13. Spot checks all equipment for cleanliness.
14. Participate in surveys and inspections made by government agencies and ensures department is compliant.
15. Represents the community in a courteous, efficient and friendly manner with all interactions
16. Relays Resident feedback to staff for improvements/ praise
17. Manages by walking around the kitchen, dining room and memory care during peak times providing assistance and support for residents and associates
18. Develop methods for coordination of the departments' services with other Resident services, to ensure the continuity of the Residents' total regimen of care.
19. Obtain and demonstrate knowledge of the Discover Your Spark Lifestyle and Wellness philosophy and its inherent core values. Support and participate in Discover Your Spark (e.g. assist with feedback groups, assist in new initiatives, encourage Residents and act as champions of fun).
20. Continue to develop job related knowledge, skills and abilities by participating in continuing educational opportunities for personal growth and development.
21. Ensures corporate and OSHA safety standards are followed.
22. Follows company standards for attendance and punctuality.
23. Follows and observes community policies and procedures.
24. Perform other duties as assigned. Attend in-service classes and staff meetings.
What We Expect From You
• Culinary degree
• Certificate in food service supervision and Serve Safe Certification
• Prefer additional certification in restaurant sanitation
• At least 3 years of progressively responsible work experience in the senior living industry or related high-volume, high-end food service environment..
• Ability to work with the elderly in a courteous and friendly manner, demonstrating patience and compassion. Ability to perform duties with consideration for Residents' rights at all times and demonstrate integrity and discretion in the care of Residents and in handling their health information. Leadership and motivational skills.
• Knowledge of the principles of dietetics, institutional food service, and sanitation. Knowledge of large-scale distribution of food, food laws, and accepted food service techniques. Knowledge of laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to senior living care. Ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, interpret, and manage programs, goals, objectives, policies, procedures, and resources necessary to provide quality services.
