Regional Transportation Manager

Our team in Wauwatosa currently has an opening for a Regional Transportation Manager

At Brenntag Great Lakes, our Regional Transportation Manager plays an essential role in the transportation department by directing all dispatch operations to provide superior transportation and delivery of products and services. Responsibilities include planning, directing, and coordinating the transportation operations for BGL. The Regional Transportation Manager ensures that compliance, policies, practices and procedures meet all federal, state, licensing and regularity requirements.

YOUR ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan, organize, manage and inspect the work of dispatch operations and drivers.
  • Schedule, direct, and resolve activities related to dispatching, routing, or tracking transportation vehicles to ensure scheduled delivery.
  • Monitor operations to ensure that dispatchers and drivers comply with administrative policies, procedures, safety rules, government regulations and fleet management.
  • Investigate all service failures and provides action plan to prevent future occurrences.
  • Create bi-weekly recaps detailing department performance
  • Interact and collaborate with other department managers to assure responsibilities are met.
  • Responsible for relationships and services provided by fleet related service providers and vendors, lease providers, and fleet maintenance.

YOUR PROFILE

  • Bachelor degree and/or equivalent work experience
  • Ability to interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be familiar with DOT rules and regulations
  • Current driver’s license, CDL preferred
  • Proven ability to manage a minimum of ten Drivers and Dispatchers
